Absolutely one of the best hotel stays I’ve had. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded expectations — the rooms were spotless, the amenities were top-tier, and the entire staff went above and beyond to make sure our retreat attendees were well cared for. Their professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail truly made our experience seamless and stress-free. 10/10 across the board. I can’t wait to come back to Montgomery and stay here again!

I truly loved my stay at this hotel. Every member of the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, and the entire property was spotless and visually stunning. The artwork throughout the hotel was both beautiful and inspiring, and I especially loved the library filled with books and thoughtful recommendations. The sculpture of the little boy in the library and the documentaries playing in the theater room added such a meaningful touch. Standing on the bridge leading to the pool, which crosses the very street where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once marched from Selma, was deeply moving and made me feel proud and blessed to be on such historic ground. The room itself was wonderful, clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. I appreciated the complimentary robes, the soft bed, and the overall sense of calm and comfort the space provided. I also loved the variety of entertainment options, including the free HBO app and the ability to log into my own streaming services. The restaurant food was delicious, served hot and full of flavor. Overall, I had an exceptional experience and am already looking forward to returning once the second part of the property is complete.

I stayed at Elevation during a leadership retreat in Montgomery, and the hotel became an important part of the experience rather than just a place to sleep. After long days spent visiting historic sites and sitting with some very heavy history, returning to Elevation felt grounding. The space is beautiful and thoughtfully designed, but what stood out most was how calm and intentional it felt throughout the week. The staff were consistently welcoming and professional, creating an atmosphere that supported reflection and rest. I was especially struck by how the hotel offers spaces that invite you to slow down—most notably the library. Elevation is a special property, and I would absolutely return.

This hotel is truly amazing! More than I could have imagined. It has all of the amenities a person could want and the food served was delicious. The gym had everything needed to get a great work and the on-site restaurant had the best service. What I loved them most is all of the history and the connection the hotel has to EJI historical site and museum. I never thought would say this but I’m trying to find my way back to Montgomery for a second visit.

I stayed at Elevation as a part of a restorative retreat. Knowing nothing about the hotel going in, I didn’t have any preconceived notions about it. I was impressed visually at first, then by the professionalism of the staff. I was surprised by new discoveries at the hotel on a daily basis with the crowning jewel being the library. What an amazing property. I can’t wait to come back with my family.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hands down the BEST hotel experience in Montgomery, unmatched luxury & black- owned excellence!! There is nothing and I mean NOTHING like Elevation in Montgomery, Alabama! This stay was booked as a birthday gift for my friend, and what we experienced exceeded every expectation. First, I have to give the highest praise to Calvetta Smith. Her positivity, professionalism, and genuine willingness to help are the reason this stay became unforgettable. She was gracious, attentive, and truly went above and beyond to make a birthday celebration feel special. Customer service like this is rare, and Calvetta delivered it effortlessly. She is a true asset to this property. Now let’s talk about the panoramic room because whew. It is worth every single penny!!! The room is absolutely stunning. Floor to ceiling windows with automatic curtains wrap around the entire room. There is a separate living room area with a dining table, a guest bathroom, a bar sink, refrigerator, freezer, a Nespresso machine, and a hot tea kettle. The shower is massive , easily fits two people with a double vanity that feels like a luxury spa. And let me shout this from the rooftops: THE ICE MACHINE HAS NUGGET ICE. HALLELUJAH. That alone deserves applause!! Not to mention eleven86 water bottles in room, WOW! The entire property is gorgeous. Modern, intentional, luxurious, and welcoming. Every detail feels thoughtfully designed. The vibe, the cleanliness, the atmosphere, everything is on point! What makes this experience even more powerful is that Elevation is black-owned. The pride, excellence, and level of hospitality here truly show. This is what it looks like when we do it right. If you are visiting Montgomery and not staying here… what are you even doing? There is no other hotel in this city that compares!! We will absolutely be back and I will be recommending Elevation to everyone I know.

Our group was the very first conference the hotel hosted. We had about 60 people who arrived just two days before the official grand opening, and while the team was still putting on the finishing touches, they went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and professional, and the property itself was beautifully prepared for our event. The conference space is well-designed and comfortable, the food was good quality, and the overall service was top-notch. I especially loved how the hotel’s design pays tribute to the Gee’s Bend Quilters — such a thoughtful and powerful connection to local culture and history. We were even fortunate enough to have several of the Quilters join our conference and share their remarkable stories. My guest room had everything I needed — the bed was very comfortable, the multiple showerheads were a nice luxury, and the plush robe was an extra touch of comfort. From my sixth-floor room, I had a great view of downtown Montgomery, which happened to be light up green while we were in town, in honor of Veterans. Although I didn’t visit the EJI sites during this trip, I truly appreciate how this hotel honors. I also value the hotel’s commitment to community — I loved seeing staff name tags that highlight the neighborhoods they come from, and I know this kind of investment has a real economic impact locally. My colleagues and I travel to Montgomery on occasion for work related to protecting the history of the Black Belt. This will absolutely be our go-to hotel from now on. We’ll be recommending it to others as well. Congratulations to the team — keep up the great work! I can’t wait to see the next phases come to life.

One of the best hotels I have stayed at. Everything is done with such intentionality and after challenging days visiting the history of the surrounding sites, the hotel brought me peace and comfort. From the rooms to the staff, everything was top notch. Be sure to stop in the phenomenal library and theater.
